FRAMEWORK ALIGNMENT
REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
We remain committed to low-carbon
engineering, procurement, construction
and installation (EPCI) delivery and
continually seek to reduce emissions
from our operations and assets
Decarbonizing our Operations
In 2024, we achieved ISO 50001 (energy management)
certi昀椀cation for four fabrication yards and reduced
fabrication carbon intensity by 35% compared to 2023. In
2025, we extended ISO 50001 to our marine 昀氀eet, certifying
derrick barge 32 (DB32), derrick barge 50 (DB50) and
derrick lay 2000 (DLV2000) vessels.
Monthly energy reviews identi昀椀ed consumption patterns
and enabled engines to run closer to their optimal load
bands, reducing inef昀椀cient low-load operation.
Generator operations were optimized during idle periods,
non-essential auxiliary loads were minimized, and start/stop
controls for high-consumption systems were enforced.
Data underpins how we set performance targets and
optimize operations. Across Jebel Ali, Batam and Qingdao
yards, ISO 50001 certi昀椀ed systems supported by assetmanagement software helped prioritize upgrades to highconsumption equipment, including variable-frequency
air compressors, introducing dryers to eliminate wet air
inef昀椀ciencies, improving the operational ef昀椀ciency of
welding machines based on utilization trends, and timely
昀椀lter replacement, air-leak minimization and installation
of smart controllers. Batam’s use of 40% biodiesel blend
delivered ~3,000 tCO2e in emission reductions. Our Jebel
Ali and QMW yards installed compressed air receiver
tanks to reduce compressor cycling, improving diesel
consumption by ~7%. Since 2023, the Jebel Ali fabrication
yard’s asset utilization software has supported an 18%
reduction in fuel consumption.
Renewable energy also remains central to our strategy.
In 2025, we expanded onshore solar power generation in
the Batam fabrication yard; three of昀椀ces and 昀椀ve yards
were powered by renewable energy, and grid-sourced
renewable electricity reached ~92%.
We are increasing modularization to reduce project
carbon intensity. Fabrication in controlled environments
enhances ef昀椀ciency, lowers emissions, and can shorten
schedules by enabling parallel site and yard work,
reducing on-site workhours.
